This project involved transforming two concrete staircases by cladding them with high-quality materials to achieve a refined and contemporary finish.
We began by installing white primed pine stringers and risers, providing a crisp, clean base that contrasts beautifully with the natural tones of the oak treads. The 21mm oak treads were selected for their durability and elegant grain, and each one was finished with 12mm scotia moulding to ensure a smooth, polished transition between surfaces and add a subtle decorative detail.
For the balustrade, we fitted a continuous oak handrail in an elegant ellipse profile, providing both comfort and style. The handrail flows seamlessly along the staircase, adding to the overall sense of cohesion.
Supporting the handrail are 12.5mm black metal spindles in a clean,
straight rectangular design, offering a striking visual contrast against the oak while maintaining an open, airy feel.
At key turning points, we reinforced the structure with 30x30mm black steel posts, ensuring both strength and stability without compromising the aesthetic.
The finished result is a solid, well-balanced staircase that combines traditional materials with modern detailing. Its clean lines and thoughtful design bring a sense of continuity to the space, tying together architectural elements with a sleek, contemporary edge.
